A House by Any other name....

Hello all!

I'm back once again to show off some stuff I managed to paint.  Not very much, in fact technically only one model.  It was pretty big however so I figured I'd go over how I got it painted.

I bought this House at a Comic-con last year and decided to get it all painted up!  First step was to base coat it black and paint all the wood trim with a light brown.

After the trim I proceeded to paint all the Stone a dark grey.  Mostly the floor and chimney.

Next up I painted the roof tiles a light blue to match all the other buildings in my little village I am building.

Next step I gave the whole thing a layer of my homemade Black Wash to darken the colours and give depth to the mini.

I then proceeded to drybrush a very light brown over all the wood to bring out the wood grain.

Next step was to do the same with the stone by using a light grey to make that pop as well.

Then perhaps the longest and most annoying step.  I had to go in and paint the walls a beige colour to show off the plastered walls and cracks.

Once that was done the last steps involved giving the whole thing a light dry brush of beige for the weathering.  As well as painting all the metal bits as well as the window panes.

And there it is!  One House complete!  It came out great and matches all my other houses as well.  Whats next?  Well we shall wait and see!

Happy New Year! Very late recap of my Year-to-Date Progress!

Hello all!

Well....it's been quite a year.  I know I haven't really posted anything for months and months.  I have a very good reason for that.  Mostly health related sadly.  While I did manage to get some painting done I never really felt the need to update, but I figured I had best start the year off right!

So for now I'm going to show off everything I did manage to paint in that time so you can all see I wasn't being super lazy!

Starting with stuff I did over the summer

Several more Rats to add to my Warband!  Got many more lying around but Lets put them aside for now and keep trucking on!

Finished up some random Warhammer Fantasy minis I had based but not painted on my desk!  In addition I finished some units!

Completed a few units for my Empire army....but bought a whole bunch more to add!

Also finished a bunch of random models for D&D and AOS!  Could be used in a variety of Skirmish games as well!

Lastly I also managed to complete a handful of terrain as well!

So all and all I did manage to get a bunch done this year...but by my count only around 54 models...Less then half of what I did last year.

HOWEVER, I am still glad I managed what I did and I hope to actually get a few projects done this month and help to recover.

So until I post again!

Late March update....Because its April

Hello all!

So I'm back and got some stuff to show off!  Honestly?  March was pretty slow and most of what I got painted was....not really finished in March.  I finished it all last week!  Which I had off and I did a lot of painting.

So lets get down to it all!

Five Stormcast Judicators!  I am SO CLOSE to 1000pts.  I just need to get 3 Prosecutors done and the first stage of my Stormcast is complete!

Next up....

One Roper Monster for D&D!  Now I already have one of these...but I picked this guy up back in the summer and just decided to get him off my table ASAP.  So I did...and now here he is ready to eat people in caves!

Finally one last big model...

One 6th Edition Dark Elf Hydra!  I won this model back in 2007 at a GW store event when the 7th Edition Dark Elf Army book was released.  They were getting rid of their old stock i the way GW used to do it...by giving stuff away.  So I got a 60 dollar metal model for Zero Dollars.

Now here he is!  I must say I have nightmares about putting this guy together...but now that he is done (Minus the Beast Masters that is) I can lay my head to rest.

So that's it for now!  Hopefully I'll have more updates soon.

February Wrap-up!

Hello once again all!

So I didn't update much last month, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been busy getting things painted!  I actually managed to get a bunch done on two separate projects.  So lets see what I managed to paint!

Four more Stormcast Liberators! When added with Steelheart I have another unit of five. Now I just need to put together the last 5 Liberators I have for a whole Unit of 10.  But that will have to wait as I have other things I'm working on now.

Four Skaven Clan Rats for some Warhammer 6th Edition Skirmish!  These old models are lovely to paint and super quick.  I have a bunch more that are currently in route so I hope to have a decent sized force ready soon so I can play a few games.

Now one more entry for this month.

My last three Bones 1 Kickstarter Kobolds.  I now have a full 12 painted up and out of my Bones bin.  Nothing real special for these guys but I am running out of space on my D&D Shelf in my display case...

So in total for February I managed to paint 12 models!  Pretty good if I do say so myself. I have one more random model i want to paint before I continue with the last models I need for my Stormcast 1000pts.

Until then!

Late January....Or Early March?

Hello once again all!

I'm back with my Round up of January...a week into February!  Sorry but I honestly was distracted from painting most of the month and honestly didn't get around to finishing what was on my desk until a few days ago, technically making it a February paint completion.  However, I make the rules so....

Three Stormcast Liberators!  The last 3 I needed done to complete my unit.  This whole unit was years in the making.  In fact I'm pretty sure I started this whole unit back in 2016 and just kept delaying getting it done.  But now with these guys done I have a full 10 man unit completed!

Tada!  Now with the completion of these models it means I have only done 4 models for the whole month of January.  Which is fine honestly.  I decided I'm going to take it easy and not stress myself too much...but I WILL finish my Stormcast.

So with that said, on to the next unit!

2022 and Painting is the Name of the Game! Also Warhammer Technically....

Hello all!

I'm back for a new year of painting minis and kicking ass.  And as I'm locked down at home, I'm all out of Ass.  With this said I have decided to FOCUS this year.  I'm getting a project done whether it kills me or not.  I probably wont, but still!

So with all that said lets start off with my first project I intend to get done this year.  My Hallowed Knights Stormcast Eternals!

Lord Celestant on Dracoth!  I was kinda dreading painting this model because I couldn't decide on how to paint the Dracoth.  My decision came down to me having gone to my Local Game store and bought some Vallejo Dark Green paint.  From there I just decided "Dragons should be green" and went with it.

So that model is done!  Next up, finishing my Liberators.

June is Time of Rest

Hello once again!

June has come and so has my summer halt.  I managed to get a ton done the first part of the year., but now it time to focus on the outdoors.  So for now lets take a look at the last stuff I managed to paint.

One Magister for my Tzeentch Chaos Warriors.  He was really easy to paint, although I do see some blotchy paint on it and I may have to go back with a few more layers to thin it all out.  But for now he's done!

Next up something I painted quick and dirty

Rat Swarms!  More to add to my D&D pile.  So adding these all together I only managed 6 this month.  For a grand yearly total of 96!  Almost my whole total from last year!

So now that summer is here I'll probably be on a hiatus...maybe one or two minis.

Until next time!
