Little Late for an Update this far in March...

Hello once again all!

So February came and went and so did the painting I had planned to get done...and by that I mean not much.  February was very much a "rest" month.  I did manage to get a decent amount done however.  Specifically ending with these boys.

5 More Conan Mummies!  With these guys done I finished the last batch of Mummies for my Conan board game,  Still have a bunch to finish in the box, but at least I'm making progress.  Next up is 15 Skeletons but they will have to wait.

So my total for February comes to 23.  Honestly?  Not too bad considering.  Now I decided I'm going to focus on Terrain.  I have a bunch I want done and off my table so that's where March is taking me.

Stay Tuned!

Moving Ever Forward!

Hello once again all!

So here I am working through another paint pile hoping to see the end...but knowing it will never come.  So with that said lets take a look at what I managed to finish over the weekend!

Five Mummies for my Conan adventure game!  I still have 5 more Mummies to paint and I wasn't sure HOW I wanted to paint them.  Took awhile for me to settle on this but I'm glad I did.  I wanted them too look less "Sickly" dead and more "Old" dead.  I think it worked.

So 5 more done and 5 more on the way!

Stay Tuned!

October Painting SPREEEE!

Hello one and all and welcome back!

So after a whole week off I sat down and managed to get through a whole hella lotta stuff!  My main "pile" I was working on is mostly done with a few stragglers and new pile waiting to be next!

So with that said lets take a look at all I've done!

Two OOP River Trolls! I love these models and they were really fun to paint.  Took me awhile to figure out what colours to use to pull it off.  Once I finally decided on what I wanted I wasn't too sure they would look good.  Boy am I glad they came out great!

Next up...

5 pieces of scatter terrain!  Four pieces of LOTR terrain for the Mines of Moria and the grate from the Blasted Hallowheart set.  Finally finished that up and now just have 2 chests to work on.

With that said....

5 Bossonian Archers for my Conan board game.  Oh god I'll never get this project done.  But I am officially 1/3rd of the way through the box...skeletons are up next most likely...

But before that...

Old school OOP Metal Plaguebearer!  Now this was mostly a test scheme for Nurgle.  One thing I did learn was that I want my  boys to be brighter!  Luckily, multi-coloured Nurgle units look really good. So he'll look great once the rest of the unit is done.

and with THAT said!

Four old OOP Chaos Warriors of Nurgle!  Got these guys back in 2006 for a Demonic Legion of Nurgle army I had planned that...never happened due to 7th edition Warhammer.  Now is as good a time as any to get it done though!

With that I managed to paint 17 models with about 5 more already in the WIP stage.  I'm happy to have made progress and sure hope to beat my yearly record!

Bye for now!

LET'S PAINT STUFF: Getting a Rhythm Going

Hello everyone!

Alright so I am back with what I've been working on so far.  I didn't manage to get as much done as I would of liked but I did manage to get a few things done to show off.

So for starters I am happy to report my Conan pirates are done!

The last 5 pirates are done!  I decided to change up the paint scheme to make things interesting.  My plan on making all the pirates pants red fell apart when I realized that, in this instance, white pants would look best.

I am finally done these!  Oh my god!  now I'm done 30/105 models in my Conan box game and I can get the next batch of 5 on my paint table.

For now I decided to get another batch of models that has been sitting on my desk for the last 2 years done.

Tzeentch Chaos Warrior!  I had bought some used minis cheap in order to make a 1000pt Mortal Tzeentch army list.  I had half painted one for the last 2 years but never finished.  So now I'm...kinda finished him.

To be honest I'm not totally happy with the paint job on the armor.  I need to do more of an edge highlight but I, apparently, do not own a blue colour any lighter then whats on him and I hate mixing because I often forget my mixture and it puts the colour off.

So they are on hiatus until I can go and pick up some new paints.  While that is waiting I decided to start on these.

The Bones Blacksmith and a Fireball!  I already mentioned then Blacksmith in an earlier post but the Fireball I need as my current D&D character...well, lets just say the only decent spell he can cast is flaming sphere.  I figured I could use a model to represent that.

Well that's its for now!  Hopefully I'll have more done by the end of the weekend.

Till then!

LET'S PAINT STUFF! 2019 Great Mini Clearance continues!

Hello Everyone!

Oh man, I'm getting back into a groove and finished up the last 2 of Garrek's Reavers.  So lets get going and showing off what I've finished!

Garrek and his Reavers, all painted up.  They were fun to paint up mostly due to the fact I decided to mix up the skin tone on many of them just to avoid boredom.

So the first part of my Shadespire box is done.  I have Steelheart's Champions in the pipeline but I decided to finish off another batch of my Conan minis in the meantime.

5 more pirates done!  I must say, part of the reason it's taken me so long to get these done is because I absolutely HATE painting them.  They are small and spindly and have tiny details that are hard to get too.

However!  I only have 5 more of them to paint so hopefully I can quickly roll up my sleeves and pound them out so I can focus on the other minis in the box.

So that's all for now, I'll have more updates soon!

Conan! The Adventurer

Hello again everyone!

So been awhile since I updated and quite a lot of stuff has happened with me.  It's been keeping me busy so I haven't had the time or motivation to sit down and actually paint anything.  But I finally finished my next group of Conan miniatures.

So without further ado...

My poorly painted and poorly photographed Pirates!  I'll admit I HATED painting these.  Although that might be because of the colour scheme I chose.  Anyway, they are done!  and I'm going to work on another quick project this weekend that I hope to show you soon.

Bye for now!

HE'S BACK! New Year and a New Project

Holy hell!  It has been a super long time since I have updated my blog.  I'll admit I have been pretty busy these last few months.  Factoring in the time off I took over the summer and adding the time I took due to home renovations...yeah, it's been awhile.

Anyway, lets take a look at what I decided to be my main project going into the summer.  I decided, if I want to buy one of the many board games GW has been pumping out recently, I need to cut down my miniature count a little.

So I decided to knock out some CONAN!

Now I had mentioned this a while ago.  I had gone through the whole process of basing, and base coating all the minis in the standard set.  Now I plan on painting the whole thing! All 105 miniatures will be painted an knocked out, hopefully, before the summer.  That way I can focus on a new summer of Terrain.

So without further ado, here are the first minis done in this new project,  15 Pict warriors:

I mixed up the skin tone on them, 5 of each going from darker Bugman's Glow to Tallarn Flesh (My poor OOP paint...I'm running out!), lastly to Khardic flesh from P3.  I'm trying to keep the colour scheme on these guys basic as it is just a board game, but I'm really happy with how they came out.

My main goal is to paint all the grunts in the set.  So it has 15 Picts, 15 Pirates, 15 Skeletons, 15 Guards and 10 Mummies.  Next up on the painting table, PIRATES!

Wish me luck!
